Jan 17 - Mount Gambier/Melbourne

Rise and shine and what a good day to go walk around the blue lake. It's not very large, it took us only about an hour to get around and that's with us stopping to take pictures.

We then went to see the Umpherston Sinkhole so I can see it during the day in all its glory. This is the first garden that I've been to that I have to walk DOWN to. There's a pretty waterfall as well that you can see quite up close and personal.

I think I saw something interesting
Before we left Mount Gambier, we did a quick stop to see some caves. Saw a poster advertising cave diving - don't think I'll ever do that but they do provide lessons. Anyway, figured we'd join a tour and learn something.
There's a specific name for such holes but I forgot what it is
This is apparently a dry cave. You'll need to google what that means because I can't remember what's the difference between a dry cave and a wet cave if there is such a thing
I believe they used to dump trash into these caves (that's one of the chutes I think)
We took the long way back to Melbourne so we could drive along the Great Ocean Road and also to stop and see the 12 Apostles. I really don't know why it's called the 12 Apostles since there are less than 12 anything and they don't look like Apostles. Views are still fantastic though so worth the trip. It was so windy that I had to use my hood to "hold down" my hair so I don't look like some wicked witch with special wind effects. :)

Super windy but gorgeous day

Stopped for a tea break. It was windy so we ducked for cover ... next to a place that rents spit. Took me a while to figure out that meant the equipment for BBQ :-\
Back to Melbourne for dinner with mummy!
