Jan 11 - Great Barrier Reef / Cairns

Finally it was just too bright so I just layed there until el capitan woke up and everyone got moving again. We were going to take our first dive in 15 mins so we gotta hustle and get our gear on. For my next and last dive, as the other 3 people in my group wanted to dive with their friends (they had to join the other group), that left just me. So I got a personal dive with one of the apprentice master divers and by golly, though my camera battery has gone kaput, it was the best dive the whole trip. Have to admit since we dove at my pace (which is slow), I saw a lot more marine life.

Back on the boat and here we go again - 3 hours of choppy waters back to mainland. I sat at the back of the boat to get a ton of fresh air and sipped water from my water bottle. I barely made it back but I did not do another merlion. Dieu merci! Back on land, I returned the camera and headed back to the motel. It was blazing hot and I got burnt! It's ridiculous that I was fine after being on the boat for 34 hours but 30 mins of walking and I was well done. I was so exhausted so I took a nap with the a/c blasting. Next thing I know, it was dark and I went out to grab a quick dinner ... and a gelato.
