Australia 2015 |
Took a trip downunder by myself. Here's my story for this trip. |
Jan 8 - Melbourne / Frankston
Took a red-eye flight to Melbourne. Arrived at Tullamarine airport bright and early. Still had some time before I can catch the shuttle bus so I decided to get a sim card for my phone (need data!) for my stay. Stood in what I thought was the line for a sim card at OPUS for a good 20 mins before the lady told me that I was in the wrong line. Seriously?! She saw me queueing the entire time! Crap customer service. By then the correct queue was really long and I was pissed. She told me (gotta give her credit for this) that there's another shop (Telstra) in the departure terminal but it's inside the secured zone. I took off right there and then. I rather deal with going through security than these people! Managed to get a one month sim card with 800 MB of data so I'm good to go. Found the shuttle bus stop, loaded my luggage in the trailer (seems all of them hitch a trailer at the back of the bus) and got onto the bus for my 1 hr ride to Frankston where aunty Jeannie will pick me up. Weather was friggin' hot - ~100F!!! That evening, we grabbed dinner at a local chain restaurant. Food's rather good. It was at this time I realised that if you threw a fried egg on anything, it becomes "Australian". Fried egg on steak - Steak Australian style. Alright mate! |
