Next morning, I walked to Gainesville Island to check out the public market. It's not much of an island. This is the pond where kids were feeding the ducks.

Simon found the place where they served more than 200 different favors of ice cream but the location was off the map that I had. So we mixed modern and old technology. Since I didn't have a data plan in Canada and Simon could access the Internet from the laptop at the hospital, we took a picture of the map on the laptop. :-)

Another mix of modern and old tech (well, sort of old) - had to take a picture off my phone (wifi @ hotel) so I had enough details on the map to make my way to the hospital from the train stop.

After our brunch, we headed to the park to try to walk some off the calories off. Kat and I at the fountain by the lake (really a pond).

Ok so this wasn't in the US but the timing was close enough. Yee Hsiang was in Singapore so before he headed back to KL, we went to get some Bak Kut Teh @ Ng A Sio's.
